What the client needed.

The head contractor needed a carpentry crew who could handle both the structural framing and the full second-fix package across all four townhouses — without juggling multiple subbies or chasing QA between trades.

Critical constraints: a 14-week program with staged handovers, a tight street access (Brunswick East backstreets), and a client who wanted written updates rather than phone calls.

What we delivered

  • Structural framing across all four units — wall, floor and roof framing to engineered drawings
  • Full second-fix carpentry package including internal linings, architraves, skirtings and door hanging
  • Staircase installation coordinated with stair fabricator
  • Site management of carpentry QA hold points ahead of certifier inspections
  • Weekly written program updates to the head contractor's PM
  • Zero recorded safety incidents across the 14-week program

Program honoured. Zero defects at handover.

A staged program like Tinning Street lives or dies on the carpentry setup. Get the framing right, and every trade behind you runs smoother. Get it wrong, and you're chasing tolerances for the rest of the build.

We set out each unit properly, ran QA hold points before the linings crew started, and kept the program board visible to every trade on site. No drama.

The Machells crew ran Tinning Street like it was their own project. Program honoured, QA tight, documentation in order every Friday afternoon. Short list for every carpentry package we put out from here.
