Why builders come back.

The full carpentry package is where Machells earns its repeat work. One contractor across frame, lock-up and finish means no gaps between scopes, no finger-pointing at defects time, and no juggling three subbies to get one carpentry job done.

For builders running multiple projects, a trusted carpentry package partner is worth real money — it takes a whole trade off your coordination load.

What's in the package.

  • First-fix structural — subfloor, wall framing, floor framing, roof framing
  • Engineered timber — LVL, glulam, I-joists, steel-to-timber connections
  • Lock-up carpentry — external cladding, fascia, eaves, window fit-off prep
  • Second-fix — door hanging, architraves, skirtings, internal trims
  • Staircases — timber stairs install and balustrade coordination
  • Linings — timber linings, feature wall framing, ceiling setdown
  • QA hold-point management across all three stages
  • Full documentation — SWMS, ITPs, variations, defects register

One crew, three fixes, zero handovers.

The package advantage is continuity. The same lead carpenter who sets out the frame is still on-site for the second-fix door hanging. That's how defects stay low, and how small details at lock-up get carried through to finish without getting lost.

Single director across the scope. One point of accountability from quote through to defects close-out — not a relay race between a PM, a site supervisor, and a finish coordinator.

Program-aligned resourcing. Crew ramps up and down with the program — full frame crew at structural, smaller finish crew at second-fix — without changing out the lead on the job.

Priced properly. Itemised quote with clear first-fix, lock-up and second-fix splits. Assumptions and exclusions written out so there's no surprise at variation time.

Common questions.

Can we get a package quote broken out by stage?
Yes. Standard practice — itemised quote split into first-fix, lock-up, and second-fix so you can track progress claims and variations cleanly.

Do you supply materials or fix only?
Flexible. On most builder-led packages we fix only, using materials supplied through the builder's preferred supplier. On architect-led residential, we'll often supply — whichever gives the best commercial outcome.

What program do you need?
We want to see your overall build program so we can resource properly across first-fix, lock-up and finish. The earlier you share it, the better we can plan crew allocation.

Do you price variations as they happen?
Yes. Variations priced and issued in writing within 48 hours of instruction. No sprung costs at the end of the job.
